Some of you will have guessed by my long period of inactivity that I’m struggling with this challenge. It’s very disappointing, but I’ve found I can’t give the challenge the attention needed to make it work for me. Rather than leave it all hanging, I think it’s time to admit I’m unable to continue in any meaningful way. To all my challenge friends – you are a most remarkable group of people and I wish you all the best as you complete the 365 challenge. Though I won’t be posting here anymore, I hope to continue visiting your blogs now and then.
This blog won’t be closed down because I think a few challengers might use my participant list to access others’ blogs. Those of you who visit my other photo blog may see me resume posting there eventually, but for now I can be reached though the Contact Me link at the top of the page and on Facebook….

They make air travel pretty miserable these days, but at least the airports have these cool moving sidewalks…

This envelope arrived in the mail for me this week and I had to laugh at being addressed with the title “Photographer”. The backstory is that last year I posted several architectural photos of one of the national museums here in Ottawa (my favorite is HERE). The museum’s public relations officer saw the images on my blog and contacted me with a kind offer to put me on the museum’s invitation list for photography related events.
(It was obviously an error to go to a 1/4 sec exposure on this handheld shot. But, I braced my elbows pretty well and was looking for a bit of a hazy look anyway, so I think it came out okay.)

The folk song Scarborough Fair, in which the herbs parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme are featured, dates back to medieval England. HERE is an interesting article with the full song lyrics and background. And HERE is a video of the song being performed by Hayley Westenra.
I’m not particularly happy with this shot and I may have another go at it later since I have lots of these herbs in my garden. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
