Shadows cast in the early morning light by bike racks in the snow.
Processed in Lightroom using a preset called Ilford Delta 3200 Auto developed by Michael Gray and found at Presets Heaven. This preset is part of a set of 34 different presets emulating various black & white films.

LOVE this! The shadows on the untouched snow makes for a really interesting picture – love the composition and the black and white! NICE!
Very nice. Excellent composition.
Hello!
Great photo with the shadows. Good to see images in black and white sometimes. Soft and fine tones in the image.
See you!
I love the angle at which this was shot – and the texture of the snow – it’s beautiful. For some reason, though, I have the urge to put some footprints across the top!
Wonderful white winterphoto with long wintershadows!
I just love this photo. So very nice. Excellent!
Gorgeous shot, Julie! You can even see little sparkles in the snow. The tree in the corner is a nice compliment to the soft curving lines of this scene. The B&W preset was the perfect choice. Thanks for the link!
Very nice. Hopefully you can take a shot soon with bikes in the racks, and daisies dancing nearby (sigh….)
Amazing angle- you captured a perfect shot! The snow looks so perfect and the hill in the back looks like it’s from a movie scene
Very nice!
Great effect Julie, who would have thought of croquet in the snow, love the photo.
It is beautiful with the shadows. Shadows can be used to get deep into the picture, just as you received in your beautiful winter image. Have a good weekend.
Oh, you’ve got a winner here, Julie. This one is very special. Love the contrast and simplicity.
Oh, so beutiful
A knockout Julie! The flow and curves are fabulous as are the sparkles in the snow.
Wow! I really like this photo. The shapes of the snow and the shadows…perfect!
Have a nice weekend!
Julie, this is a fabulous photograph. Frame it!
Snow and low light makes everything seem different and interesting.
Elegent and simple, some of the best photos have these elements and so does this exposure. Good job.
This is so beautiful!
Wow, that was one of the best photos I ever seen. It almost look unnaturall. But if I could I would put it on the wall.
(Sorry, for my writing english – it not very good. )
Wow, very nice photo.
Monica
Great pattern in those shadows, Julie.
Wonderful shadows. I also was drawn to the gentle sloping curve of the snow bank accentuated with the tree silhouette.
Wonderful photograph!
It’s a wonderful photo, Julie, so beautiful…
Julie, Great everything, including B/W conversion. I’ve not downloaded many LR presets but these I will track down. I love the perspective you chose and the different lengths of the elongated shadows of the bike rack. It’s a keeper.
I bet it would make a nice high contrast print.
Fabulous shot and post processing!! Great B&W photograph.
A beautiful photograph! You´ve really catched the light and composition in this! Great work!
Love the composition on this.
Sensational. Great shot!
Really nice in B/W. I love shadows and this is a great one. Plus the background hill adds a lot to the composition.
Yes, all of the above. Wonderful composition.
Simply beautiful! You’ve got a great eye!
This is absolutely amazing Julie! All those shadows and curves and that little bit of tree….amazing!
It looks like sand in de desert. It is a clean, nice picture. Good work.

Love this!
Wonderful composition!!!!
Å, like like like!!!
=)
Julie, this is one amazing shot. I love the subtlety of the tones and the slight sparkle on the snow. The shapes and shadows of the racks which mimic the hill – awesome.
One of your best – hope this one is going on your wall.
From the looks of things, you have about as much snow as i have. Now I am going to have to go look for some snow shadows.
This is perfect in its simplicity.
Ih I like to see the shadows in your photo!
Amazing and so beutiful!
this is one heck of an image!!!
Do you have so much snow? Here in Sweden it´s cold, but we don´t have any snow at all (not in Stockholm at least). I love this picture – the view, the lines, the shadows and the pale colours. Great!
I love this picture.Nice shadows and perfect in black and white.
Thank´s for visiting my blog and for all kind comments!
(Now I`m back from my trip to the Alps!)
Simply stunning! I’m going to have to search out that preset you mentioned too. I really love this shot.
AWESOME SHOT!! that is a winner!! congrats on the win over at Towner!!
A photo in black and white is peaceful to look at. Such nice shadow at the untouched snow and your composition is perfect!
Regarding camels in Australia,
Australia is actually the worlds largest exporter of camels, even to the Arab countries. It stems from all the camels which were imported to Australia when the early settlers started conquering the inner parts of Australia.
When the railways came along the camels were reduntant all of a sudden but the camel keepers just would not kill them off. They released them out into the desert and since camels are well suited for that type of condition, they multiplied, and they keep multiplying at a fast rate apparently. Nobody knows how many wild camels there are, but hundreds of thousands probably. I found this info on the web http://camelfarm.com/camels/camels_australia.html
Love your photo by the way.
